Well, believe it or not, the put my rebate through manually, and I should have it shortly. Sad that it takes emails, phone calls, and threats to get the to give you the rebate you are entitled to.
Ultimately, responsibility lies with
Vonage
to ensure compliance with their rebate promises. If the fulfillment center is not able to do the job, they need to change centers. If they can't keep up, bring on more processors, or split the work between fulfillment centers. Scapegoating will only hurt
Vonage
because it's their rebate program.
Rebates promised by my retailer where processed and received very quickly. It's specifically the
Vonage
rebate that is the problem. Maybe a good class action lawsuit would make them meet their commitment to their rebate program. When I was on the phone, a supervisor actually said, through the customer service rep (csr), that I would get my rebate in about 4-6 more weeks. When I said that wasn't good enough because all time windows had expired, they promised the csr that I'd be ok. When I started passing legal actions that would follow, and contacting the executive offices, he manually put it through.
This is UNACCEPTABLE! We as consumers need to demand more than a casual attitude from companies that promise rebates and don't deliver, or don't deliver on time. Maybe they should be required to pay us a "late fee" for paying late like consumers get charged if they pay late.

Besides the rebate issues, what are all of your thoughts on the actual phone service?

I e-mailed customer support about it.(6 months, no rebate) They got back to me 2 days later saying i was right,(i told em it was overdue) and they would mail me a check soon. However, at web-rebates.com my status WENT BACKWARDS!!!!!!
Anyway, I think the service is great. No complaints here. Quality is great. Features are cool. Plus, the price is awesome

Post subject: 5 months and waiting
I activated my service with
Vonage
in March of 2005 its currently August 4 2005, I still haven't recieved my $50 rebate. I've checked the status of my rebate everyday and it's still in required serice period. I'm begining to think this is false advertising. My local news station is very interested in this story about how
Vonage
suckers people with their "supposive" rebates offers. Also, my mother happens to live out where
Vonage
does the rebates in Maine..her and her attorney husband are going to look in to this for me. Just as a warning , if anyone from the
Vonage
co. reads this submission in the next 6 days, please contact me with some answers to why i haven't recieved it yet. After the 6 day period is up, i WILL file a consumer complaint report with the BBB and my local news station WILL report this story for all people to see to and be warned about the "Vonage $50 rebate scam" If anyone has a comment on this, please email me at
cloverb333@chater.net
. Thank you

Im not sure why people get all uptight when it comes to waiting for a rebate. It will get to you. When you buy a product at a store and it has a rebate...do you open up a law suit as well if you dont get it in the 4-8 weeks they tell you ? If you read this thread, I think someone has actually added in...you have to go through your time period and then its 4-8 weeks afterwards you will see the rebate. Just be patient. It will get to you.
Original post of how it works.

I belive your rebate will be sent 5-8+ weeks after you have been a
Vonage
customer for 90 days. I think I would start counting the weeks after your 3 month time frame.

I signed up on Jan 22, 2005. To this day, its been 111 days.
I have checked the
Vonage
rebate status and it stated "Required Service Period"
Well, its been 3 weeks so far, so I guess I have another 2-5 weeks to wait...if the status ever changes.

If you do the math....it was a pretty close date range.

Post subject: I feel Robbed!
On December 11, 2004 I purchased a
Vonage
vt1005 starter kit at Radio Shack believing the
Vonage
advertisement that I was really going to get the $79.99 rebate as
Vonage
advertised on the box.
I sent in the rebate certificate, the upc symbol from the package, and the label with the MAC address from the side of the vt1005's box.
All paperwork was sent in and I waited patiently. After NOT receiving my rebate for a few months. I called
Vonage
and the company hired by
Vonage
to process the rebates. I was assured the rebate would be prossessed as I had active service for at least 90 days and told that it could take 8 additional weeks after having service for the 90 period required period.
After a couple Additional months passed, another call was made to the rebate company and
Vonage
. The rebate company advised that I must 'resubmit' copies of.all my rebate paperwork, and
Vonage
advised that any delays were the rebate companys fault.
Keep in mind that the rebate company works directly for
Vonage
!
Now it's Nov 10th, 2005 and I am still waiting for my rebate!
Today I called
Vonage
.
Vonage
advised me to call the rebate company. I explained that I was sick and tired of the rebate company run around game and that I feel it's obvious I was ripped off. The
Vonage
rep then contacted the rebate company and I got the same story advising me to resubmit the paperwork all over again!
Well its been almost a year now, I have been a faithfull customer! Getting delayed and put off like some poor sucker. I now go to resubmit my paperwork again for the third time and I can't find a copy of my UPC code from the box. ****?
It's obvious there has been a problem here and I'm sure my account has been noted. I'm now in the process of looking for another phone company. I'm sure that if only a couple percentil;e of the rebate customers get ripped off like this
Vonage
makes millions of dollars on the scam!
If there is anyone here that help me please do so.
My MAC address is: 000CE5C7C5CC
MTA serial# 128603402201451100000000
Acct# 100246XXXX Last 4 digits of accts # blankled out for privacy
Vonage
Rebate offer # VON-5224
Thank you for any help and/or feedback
Signed,

I activated my
Vonage
service in late June, so my 3 month service period for the rebate on my WRTP54G should have been met in late September.
Well, as of Nov 11, the web site finally says that my check is being processed.

I wonder what "soon" means? Maybe sometime in 2006?

Post subject: The Vonage Rebate Scam !
I'd just like to share my
Vonage
Rebate experience so that others may reconsider when choosing
Vonage
over ISP digital phone service...
I purchased a WRTP54G from Best Buy with a mail in rebate for $50.00, I mailed the rebate and completed the online forms as directed. The only error here has been that apparently you must mail in your rebate within 30 days of starting service (even though you can register for it on their rebate site). My GF mailed the rebate about 50 days after we started
Vonage
service and the rebate center has rejected the rebate on this basis.
Now correct me if I'm wrong here but when purchasing something with a rebate you generally expect to GET the REBATE. BTW the folks in the rebate center are completely USELESS, they can't seem to grasp the theory of customer satisfaction or the theory of how much one irritated customer can cost the company, I guarantee that if I do not receive either a rebate or a service credit the cost to
Vonage
will be much greater than $50.
Basic Marketing and Customer Service Management should well know that for every customer they alienate, they will lose 10 more prospective customers, everyone who has ever been in retail knows this. In my case I will be certain to write a negative review on EVERY relevant product review site.
Aside from the rebate scam I've been a happy
Vonage
customer, perhaps the company could pony up the rebate and keep it that way.

Checked on my rebate today @ web-rebates.com
It says your rebate has completed the first 4 of 5 steps
A check for $50.00 has been approved and will be mailed to you soon
Offer date range 02/06/2005- 06/11/2005 (Last postmark 01/07/2006)
Mail date pending.... It was recieved on 06/17/2005
I feel that even with all the negative feedback out there that my check will be made good soon (...as they say) I hope it makes it here it time to buy a new PAP2 when this one bites the dust
