Hi.
I used to have Vonage working fine for like 8 months.
3 weeks ago, it stopped.
'
After dozens of hours spent with Customer Care(?!?!) I
still don't know what's wrong. Neither does this company !

I tried the RT31P2 here, at every other ISP, dsl, cable, so on.
It didn't work NOWHERE !

So :
1) either the RT31P2 is broken
2) Vonage does not work with Brazilian range of IPs
3) Vonage has something wrong particularly with my records.

Actually what happens is that I have no dial-tone and
the phone lights blinks every 15seconds.
In the administration page of the router, the status page for voice
is BLANK. Where it used to have my phone number and an ONLINE status - now it's blank !!!

Anyone could help me ?

you have a pretty good idea of what is probably wrong.
unfortunately, chances are Vonage customer care is your only option. anyone here can speculate on the issue, but it's unlikely anyone here can solve it.

If people knew how Vonage Customer Care, takes care
of your problem, Vonage would have only 10% of its customer.

It's the worst service I have ever seen worldwide.

I can not call them back again and wait hours to
have nothing resolved...

I hope someone here from Vonage can help me
otherwise my next call will be to cancel this service (what service?)
and publish in every newspaper I know (i'm a journalist)
here what this company does with customers...

Ok.
I'll try once more here.


The RT31P2 used to work perfectly.
In the admin page/status/Voice, I used to see my phone number
and ONLINE status and Idle for Call1 and Call2.

Now, on this page, everything is blank.
My internet works perfectly.

What I realize is that :
1) the phone lights at the router blinks every 15seconds
2) clicking many times on the refresh button on that page, SOMETIMES, makes the status appear offline or sometimes online with the information about the line - but again it all disappears

some info :
Firmware Version: 1.28.00
Voice Version: 2.0.13(LIVd)
Customization: Customized
Vonage says it can't connect to my router.

I don't know why, since there is no firewall neither a router after the RT31P2. And mainly, because, I changed NOTHING on my configuration so they can not access anymore...

The only thing that changed (automatically) was the firmware version - from 1.27 to 1.28.

Any help someone ??

If you pm me your accnt# I can take a look and see what I can find out for you. I don't know if this issue is the same that has happened with customers in Mexico, and on some Island countries/territories, where their ip providers are basically not allowing our service to work properly.

I have the Linksys/Vonage router, and it works fine in Rio de Janeiro; I make Vonage to Vonage calls there all the time. Could it be your ISP blocking those ports, or your router even?
