Post subject: ATA hookup thru computer via wireless PCI card???
Hello - I had a question regarding installation of my ATA. . I have a linksys wireless 2.4G router (Model BEFW11S4).
My computer (PC) links up to the router via wireless PCI card linksys model wmp11. I also have a 3COM Etherlink 10/100 PCI card in my computer. Is it possible to plug in the ATA to the 3COM card on my computer and have it use (share) the wireless PCI card in the computer and transmit/receive to the router?
This would work out better for me to connect ATA ethernet connection direct to ethernet connection of computer and basically share the wireless PCI card . This because of telephone placement in my living space. Is this at all possible???

Another option is the use something like a Linksys wireless bridge (WET11). See

You could then put the ATA anywhere that is convenient for you. The downside is that it's about $100.

Thanks Chip.. I guess what I need to figure out is how to use my computer as a router. I want to plug the ATA into the PC via the 3com ethernet port and share the wireless PCI card which provides internet access which talks to the wireless router.
I'm sure this is possible. Just need to find out how...
By the way, good suggestion on the wireless bridge! That would have worked perfect for my XBox.... Too bad I bought the wireless PCI card for my computer.. Oh well, live and learn!
