I am currently signed up for the Premium Unlimited. I have a fax machine at my house that doesn't have a second (analog) phone line.

Since, I don't use the fax machine very much nor does it recieve faxes. So say I want to use the fax machine, can I unplug the analog phone cord from my telephone and plug it into the fax machine, and then from there fax it to another number? I'm curious of this will work or not. Thank you all!

You way of doing the fax machine is a good idea.

Will it work. The offical answer is yes.

Reality may be different. I have had some trouble which I fixed by slowing down the fax.

There are others here who can give you some more details

besides actually posting in the right forum or maybe searching for an answer, how many people do you need to tell you it'll work? that's how I have mine and probably how a lot of people run theirs.

I can fax out fine via my computer, but I have problems with incomming. (oh well)

What I did is to use my WinFax software, and install a DSL line filter between the computer modem and the line to Vobage phone.

Considering my other problems with Vonage, this is extremely minor.

baldguy, i have successfully used my computer as both incoming and outgoing fax for some time. I noticed in the forum though that they recommend dialing *99 before the number to disable all features and also to change the codec. I haven't tried it with *99 yet. I guess that's how often I fax things. I also have an efax incoming number so that I don't have to answer any faxes.

I've used XP's built-in fax software to successfully send and receive faxes over my Vonage line. Since the PC isn't anywhere near a jack, I ran a 50' phone cord from the PC to the RT and just plugged it in.
