Post subject: Phone works, certain sites do not
I just recently joined
Vonage
because I will be overseas (Australia) for a few months and need to call back home at a reasonable rate. I just got my connection the other day and have been trying to configure the router to work with the motorola vt1000v, after serveral attempts and configurations on the modem.router I enabled the PPPOE on the Motorola and on the ADSL modem and connected them both as stated in the manuel. The phone works great, the problem is that I can only get to certain websites and the others time out or do not download at all. I disconnected the voice terminal and just plugged the modem to the computer and everything works perfect, fast as hell and no problems what-so-ever. But what I need it both to work at the same time. I am using a netcomm nb1300 single port adsl modem/router. Would I be better off running a switch in front of the router to clear this problem up? Am I missing some simple configuration on the modem? Any advice is much appreciated.

Don't know exactily why this would happen but I would try placeing the ATA after your router and not before. The drawback here is that the ata can not choose how much bandwith to give to the hub. It gets what is givin. But if your connection (isp) is fast enough this should not be a problem. By doing this the internet does not go though your ata before it gets to your pc.
