Let the fun begin! The gap from 4/2 to 5/6 was a result of my LOA and Bill not being received. |

Get over it. You need at least 3 months under you belt before I can take you seriously. Check this out:
Updated Date: Number Transfer Progress History: Required Action
January 10, 2005 Awaiting Letter of Authorization
January 11, 2005 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received
January 11, 2005 Transfer Sent to Carrier
STILL NOTHING. I write, I call.... I even filed a complaint with the FCC. No luck. I get one of about 2 canned responses every time.
"It's the carrier's fault, they are having difficulty releasing the number, I am resending, I'm checking on it, please be patient... it takes 5 to 7 business days to get a status update." PATIENT? I was... for the first 3 months.
This is absolutely the dumbest thing I've ever been through in my life, and If been through some stupid crap.
The only thing that is keeping me from cancelling, is that I afraid if I do, then Bellsouth will actually release the # and I will lose it. |

I also am from Columbia, SC. Trying to get my number transferred to Vonage.
I started the 1st of May and the request was sent to the carrier on May 2nd.
I have since called several times and have sent e-mail at least once a week since then.
I have never gotten anything from vonage but Canned Spam for answers.
I called Bell South and was told that it should take from 24 - 48 hours for a transfer to go through.
However the Lady that I spoke with said (After waiting 2 months) that there was no type of transfer request in my records.
She gave me a name and Telephone number and asked me to contact Vonage and have them submit the request a second time to the Number she gave me.
I did this and got nothing but garbage answers from the people at Vonage.
I have since cancelled the request for the # transfer to Vonage and now I am trying to have my old # transferred to TracFone so I can keep it until I decide what to do.
Tracfone says it may be done in as little as 24 hours or up to 10 days.
If it happems I will let you know.
Good Luck to all.
I don't know anyone in Columbia that has completed the transfer so far.
