In order to have your Vonage service work with DirecTV Tivo you will need to get yourself a Motorola Voice Terminal VT1000. This voice terminal is the only Voice modem that will work with Directv Tivo in my experience! I have tried all of Linsys Models with no luck. I had Phone service from Earthlink Unlimited Voip and the Motorola Voice Terminal VT1000 is the box thy gave me. Soon after I canceled there service for Vonage service wich is cheaper and I could not get my Directv Tivo box to work any more because of the voice modem Vonage provided so I went out and brought a couple of Linksys devices which didn't work!

If you get a Motorola Voice Terminal VT1000 and put it in front of your router not behind your router your service will work fine. If you want you can use the Motorola Voice Terminal VT1000 as a modem too it has the function! it is the best voice terminal Vonage and Earthlink Unlimited offered but there not offering it any more but you can purchase one at Radioshack or BestBuy Good luck give me a Holla if you need Help. Vonage will give you the run around on this issue so you can keep there service! so don't even call them with the problem. If you had them tweek your service trying to fix your problem have them return your service to default!!!

I have the Motorola ATA and I also have tried now a Sony SAT T-60 and DirecTV R10, and niether one will complete a call. Yet all of the DirecTV receivers I have work just fine.

I don't no what the Motorola ATA is? is a Modem, Router or Voice Modem for Voip. I assume the Sony SAT T-60 is a DirecTV Tivo Reciever. Like I said the Only Voice modem that will work with DireTV Tivo in my experience is the Motorola VT1000, placed in front of your router or as a stand alone. I've had this work with Earthlink Unlimited Voip service and now with Vonage Voip service!!

Not true. Actually the Motorola MTA is WORSE at faxing/tivo/data calls. You just got lucky Smile

First the Motorola VT1000 is not a voice modem. It is an ATA (In Cisco Worlds) or MTA.

So the question I have now is, should I ditch my Motorola, and pick up the Linksys?? Do you think I will have better luck trying to get my DirecTivo (Sony SAT T-60 or DirecTV R10) working and making calls as normal?

The Motorola VT1000 is a Voice Modem!! http://broadband.motorola.com/consumers/products/vt1000/default.asp Please check it out! I don't have a Sony DirecTV Tivo box, I have a RCA DirecTV Tivo 80 Gig Box and it goes for about $70 to $90 dollars.
