Hi, I was just wondering if there were any plans in the future to offer free calling to Puerto Rico (the same as US and Canada). I am curious because the VoIP from cablevision (optimum voice) is now offering Puerto Rico in its unlimited calling. This would be an AMAZING feature...
As of today, calls to Puerto Rico are free for US and Canada based Vonage customers.
No press release yet but it has been released to the Broadband forums and the descriptions of the unlimited plans have been updated on the Vonage home page.

If calls to Puerto Rico are no longer considered international, why do I have to enable international calling to be able to call Puerto Rico? I do want to block other international calls, but want to call Puerto Rico the same way I call any other state.
So far when I call a number in Puerto Rico (787 area code) my outgoing caller ID shows them unknown, nothing. Once or twice my number has shown up, however this is causing problems when calling others. Any ideas? Vonage level two techs tried to fix it and my outgoing caller id worked but showed a NY number and I am in Oklahoma.
