scerruti, billq27, mbhn5204....

I can't thank you enough for taking time to troubleshoot my issue. As you all suggested, the in home wiring is NOT hooked up to the NIU as the house is brand new....so that is good news I suppose.

My question is how do I splice the cabling or do something so I get dial tone in all jacks. Note there are 5 white cables coming out from the house, I suppose these are from th 5 RJ-11 jacks in the house.

Pls see pictures and advise

This is picture of the 5 cables coming from the house hanging loose

This is the picture of the RJ-11 wall jack opened in the house if that tells you anything......I see blue, white/blue, orange, orange/white wires coming into the screws in jack and yellow, red, green, black, going to the RJ-11 plug.

This is another picture of the 5 cables coming from the house

In order to make Vonage work on all of your phone jacks you need to connect the like colored wires in each of the cables together. (i.e. all of the orange & whites together, all of the white & orange together).

If it were my house I would run the cables into the NIU in the second port from the right on the bottom:

I would then terminate them together in this thing:

However, I haven't worked with one of those things before so I can't say for certain how you use it, but I am guessing it is probably pretty easy.

I think, but am not 100% certain, that the POTS line will not be connected unless you were to manually bridge to the clear piece that covers the test jack.

Don't forget to put a hanging tag in the box to remind someone not to connect the house wiring up to the street wiring.

Now, what are all the black wires hanging from the wall? Are they connected to something? Do you only have Cable TV at one jack?

All:
First and formemost, a very belated but BIG thank you.
everything worked as you guys explained to me. I hooked the wires as you suggested and viola I had dial tone through all but one jack.

I cracked my head on this one jack and eventually found out that the cable was cut somewhere in the attic.

But all in all everything works fine now.

Thank you so much for your help
Adnan
