I have this same fax machine and it works once in a while, but not very consistantly. Keep getting line error messages back. Did you have to change any setting to get it to work every time? I have read the manual and so on and didn't see a way to change the baud rate, however I did install a dsl filter but it didn't seem to help. Any suggesions anyone?

I also have problems with faxing using Vonage; my fax system is a Epson CX11NF, which doesn't come with the option of turning off ECM or forcing the rate down to 9600. Yet, it seems that doesn't help much of you also. I am trying some diffrent tested tonight to see if I can resolve the problem; I find it funny to be on the cutting (bleeding) edge of VOIP but with a 1980's faxing technology limit!

I think that they are being cheap and not offering a more stable codex and bit settings for faxes. It would be nice to offer the ability to use better hardware that gives the techy end-users and corporates more access to changing the voice settings.

Later,
Danny D

I have a cheapo Sharp UX-305 that seems to work 80% of my tries, but only after using *99 first.

I am having a problem with some faxes. The Vonage line seems to fax well when using a fax from the computer (Brother Fax) but the machine to which the fax is sent does not respond or seems to hang up before the fax is sent. This is a problem only with some faxes not all. Does anyone know the reason for this and, if so, is there a correction available?

Mad I have tried just about everything trying to get my fax machine to work, still not luck. I called tech support 2 days in a row for at least 1 hour to an hour1/2 each call, still no luck. I just went and got a new fax hp 1050 still not able to send or receive. I saw some posts talking about the phone adapter. My model is the RT31p2 is there an updated adapter I could be using that works better? if so which is the best? Any help appreciated.

HP OfficeJet R80 all-in-one works with Vonage if you go to the Service Setup menu and select Reduced baud for all faxes... it would not work without this change. Have successfully faxed with this setting.
