Getting phone line disconnected from my apartment

Hi Mundy,

I am in a similar situation as you are. How do I know if just line 1 or both 1 & 2 are connected with the telco (from which I have disconnected an year ago) ?

welcome to the forum. In the case of an high rise, you can't unless you have access to the punch block. My suggestion was simply to use the 2nd line if you previously had 1 phone line connected with the telco. Then you can be fairly confident that line 2 was never connected. There are no guarantees and the only way to make sure is to go to the kitchen phone jack and physically disconnect the telco incoming line from your jack. I say kitchen jack b/c that's usually the incoming jack into an apt unit.
