Our closing on our old condo was today, and I had to put in a "delay a transfer of service", meaning the service does not work at an address, for a maximum of 30 days. I hope this works after all this....

It is my understanding that things are being done on your account.

"Kid gloves" they call it.

Good luck Binner!

We're in the same situation here. How does one get their account flagged for the "kid glove" treatment? In limbo here ourselves moved and hoping that Sprint keeps our number alive until LNT runs it's course. Every time I see a Sprint van drive by to install one of our neighbors' lines I fear they'll put two and two together and just cancel our number.

The ulcer continues... This doesn't bode well:

Hello BINNER

I am contacting you regarding your Vonage account. At this
time your carrier had issued a tentative date for 5/10/5; which has
passed. Unfortunately our carrier partners has been experiencing some
difficulty in processing the orders submitted by Vonage. Vonage cannot
set your transfer date because we currently do not
own your number. We are currently requesting a transfer date from
your local carrier. Your transfer will take place, but we currently
do not have the exact date in which this will occur. When we
are updated with the exact transfer date from your local
carrier, we will contact you immediately. Vonage will credit your
account for delays past the 20 business days deadline. We are working
steadfastly to port your number.

Sincerely
lnp dept.

Tick tick tick...soon the number will be ***poof*** gone.....

Do they care that once June 4th passes this number will disapear? Why is this process a headache? Somehow cell phone numbers switch easily yet they are switching from companies that don't want to lose their customers??...??!!??

This is all going to be for nothing. The deadline will pass and I guess Vonage will figure I'll stop bothering them since the number is gone....

This is bad...

It just gets better and better every minute:

Dear BINNER,

Thank you for contacting customer care. In response to your email, I
do see that your tentative transfer date was set for 05/10/05, but due
to delays with your carrier that date has been postponed. As of now I
cannot apply any credits to the account, reason being is the account
LNP transfer is only (2)days over the minimum (20)business days.
Please feel free to contact us in a week and if your transfer isn't
complete at that time, one of our Care Reps. would be glad to credit
your account for any further delays. Hope I've answered your
questions, have a great day.

Sincerely,
JXXXXXX
cca

Exactly what is the difference if it is one hour or 2 days or 1 week over to issue a credit? I was promised within 20 business days I'd have the LNP done or I'd be issued a credit, if nothing else. This just gets better and better as my ulcer gets worse and worse.

No more recomendations to others about Vonage until I see improvement...MUCH improvement!

Apparently, this techinque doesn't work....

Dear BINNER,

I am contacting you in regards to your number transfer. We have been
updated by the carrier and unfortunately your request has been
rejected. The number you requested to transfer over to Vonage is no
longer in service. If you chose to continue with the transfer you must
contact your local carrier and have the number activated. Otherwise
the transfer will not be successful. Please notify Vonage on how you
wish to handle this matter.

Sincerely,
LNP dept.

As predicted....all this headache and ulcer for nothing.
