Dear Vonage,

I don't know how else to get your attention.

Since April 28, my MTA adapter has been blinking. I tried disconnecting, reconnecting etc but to no avail.

I checked with my ISP to check if there was any block. They assured me there wasn't.

While waiting for Vonage Customer service to respond to my two e-messages for assistance, I subscribed to the Vonage SoftPhone.

That service is iffy at best.

Now here is my experience with trying to get to Vonage customer service person:

I had tried calling in to Vonage to report the problem.. After 75 minutes of waiting and then bouncing between 3 indian call center reps, I eventually got hung up on -the last person couldn't hear me.

Honestly, there must be a better way to provide service esp as Vonage is suggesting that we switch from our regular phone service provider to Vonage.

What, the Indian support couldnt fix your problem? What a suprise.

Hook your computer directly up to the MTA and go to.

Click RESTORE FACTORY DEFAULTS

Thank you very much for your response.

Am I being asked to connect MODEM -> MTA -> Computer?

And am I to expect the Computer to be On-Line if the MTA continues to blink?

I am a little lost

What I intend to do tomorrow is to take this modem to my ISP and let them try check it out

must say that I was very disappointed by the CallCenter experience

Exactly my problem! If I plug it in THEIR way, I'm offline... If I plug in MY way, 192.168.102.1/admin.html doesn't load at ALL (though MY way worked just great 'til THEIR modem went freaky).

If you found a solution, please tell me? This is my work line and it's a PAIN when I can't call them and the only "solutions" they offer are actually just further frustrations.

I used that subject and was e-mailed back the next day... HMmmm.

Actually, I just got it to work Smile What confused me is that when you hook up their way and disable your internet, you can still see THAT page--it just doesn't LOOK like anything changes... The numbers all say 0 before you click reset and they say 0 afterward so it didn't SEEM to be doing anything at all...

It stinks that we can't call them when we have a problem, though. They need some form of messaging for tech support, I think.

Don't be so harsh on Vonage, at least they answer the phone at night. My cell provider's tech support goes to sleep after 10pm most nights and there's only a handful of inexperienced techs. The same is true on the weekend, but they work even fewer hours during the weekends. With my Verizon line, my account rep is only available from 9am-5pm M-F.

Well at least you all seem to be connected. I called about two weeks ago and was told that my number could be ported. I determined that the cost using DSL, which is what I had would be cost prohibitive and informed them I would call back in about a week once I switched to a cable modem.

After one and a half very painful and expensive weeks my cable modem is working most of the time. Embarassed

I called back ready to have my number ported over and was told that it was no longer possible to do so. They didn't inform me on my initial call that this may be a possibility if I waited to place my order. After explaining to them the amount of time and cost I incurred their response was that I should try calling back in a couple of weeks and see if they could do it then or they could give me a number from a town 50 miles away. I also went on line and sent a message to their customer service group but have yet to get a response and don't really expect to. Darn shame as I was really looking forward to using the service and saving all that money. Now I guess I just get to pay Ma Bell more money for my local service and enjoy my less than reliable cable broadband service.

Well it sounds like you may have dodged a bullet with the lass than reliable cable service. If that is the case then you would have less than reliable cable service AND less than reliable Voip service. Very Happy
