I signed up with Vonage, but they gave me a phone number for a town 210 miles away. So I have to call long distance to call home? What is the point in that? Ralph with Customer Service emailed "In response to your email I would like to advise you that we try to give everyone a local number to the area in which they live but sometimes unfortunately we do not have these numbers available." Is there a way around this, I am not from a little town. I am from a large metropolitan area, we have broadband cable, running water, indoor plumbing, and electricity. |

The only way around this would be to port an existing land line or cell phone number over to your Vonage service. The number I was assigned was from a town that is about 200 miles away from me as well. However, I just had my Qwest home phone number ported over to Vonage and now I have a local number. Get your number ported. |
