I'm using the softphone via a hotel wifi and it worked all week. Tonight, after I dial I get about 30 seconds of silence and then a busy signal and "408 timeout" message, no matter what number I dial.
It starts off ok, first I get a dial tone, and then I dial. but then the 408 timeout message occurs.
any ideas ? |

408 is an error code for <generally> taking too long to finish a request. It may involve an overworked DNS system or other traffic issues.

********** Resolving 408 errors - general 408 errors are often difficult to resolve. They typically involve one-off variations in system workload or operations.
If you see persistent 408 errors, the first thing to consider is the workload on your Web server - particularly around the time the 408 errors were generated. If this is light, then you also need to consider workload on the client system. If the computer systems on both ends of the socket connection seem to be running normally, then temporary Internet surges may be to blame. |

I have the same problem but overcome it by closing down the Sopftphone using Alt/Ctrl and Delete then reopen. This seems to clear the error. |
