Is there a way for Vonage to send an alert to my home phone when I have a voicemail waiting? Like when I pick up the receiver it sends a subtle beep? Is there a phone I can purchase that would activate a light?
Thanks Jeff |

You'll hear a stutter tone if you have a voicemail(explained on voicemail page) I have a Uniden TRU8865 which has a message waiting indicator that works with Vonage. Panasonic also has this feature available(don't know of their compatability) |

You should get stutter tone as well as a visual indicator on your phone provided it supports it. |

I have a Panasonic with VMI (Voice Mail Indicator), and it works. The light goes on when there is a VM waiting, and there is also a stutter tone when I turn the phone on. Note: When Vonage initially sent me their adaptor, this functionality was not working. So I called up their service (those days you could get through in a reasonable amount of time!), and the rep tried downloading some firmware onto the adaptor. Dont know what he tried to do, but it basically fried the adaptor box. They sent me a replacement which had VMI working from the get go. Haven't had a problem since. |

I have the Uniden DCT646-2. It's a 2.4Ghz with two handsets. I bought it at Walmart for about $60. Here's a couple features I like.
* Small, compact handsets * Indicator light for VM * Phonebook can be pushed to the other handset (don't have to enter it twice) * Price * Different ringtones * You can set a different ringtone for each phonebook entry * CWCID |
