Post subject: TiVo Users! - Firmware Fix From Vonage Found HERE
Hello,
We have recently came out with a new beta firmware for
TIVO ONLY
this will
NOT
help faxing, alarm systems, etc.
This is only for the RT and WRT devices. We have a new firmware that we are testing. It has worked in the pre-liminaries with a slow but yet successful set-up. If you are willing to test the new firmware, please PM me with the following:
Customer Account Number:
Customer Contact Phone Number:
Tivo Series:
Device Type: RT or WRT ONLY
Note: This works for all flavors of tivo, including but not limited to, Direct TV Tivo, Replay TV, etc.

I have a DirecTiVo that has been working fine with a Motorola VT unit. Does this firmware have any future impact on me, i.e. should I consider requesting a hardware upgrade after this firmware has been proven to work?

OK, whoever replied to me in a PM i appreciate the feedback, however if I forward them about the 30 requests I got tonight they'll kill me, lol. So I will get to all your requests, just give me a few days to feed them a few each day. Thanks.

Call me stupid, but you state this is only for the RT or WRT devices. Can you elaborate what an RT device is. I will be moving in a few months and I won't be able to use the PPP to serial method that I currently use, this means I will have to try and use my
Vonage
line. So of course I would like to test this out, if it applies to my router.
Side note, there will be too great a distance in the new house between the PC and my DirecTiVo unit, that is why I have to find a new way to call in, I don't enjoy the daily nag.
