I supposedly got the latest upgrade but it still doesn't work. I have stand alone tivo, toshiba SDH400, comcast cable, a cisco router that

sent me RT31P2. My tivo is on the other side of the room from my computer. When I talked to Ron from executive response, he said that I could get a compact usb 2.0 network adapter. I asked if I had to obtain a cable to hook from the computer to the tivo. I haven't got a response yet. Can one of you guys tell me? I don't want to buy the damn thing only to have to take it back. Don't tell me to initiate it on a regular phone line cause it didn't work. I've tried changing all sorts of stuff and nothing has worked so far.

Hey guys, dont waste your time downloading the new firmware. it DONT work. which doesnt suprise me, seems how they barely had a week to test it, and fix any bugs.

You're holding off buying a network adapter because you're not sure if you'll need a network cable to use it? Yes, you will. Unless you buy a wireless network adapter.

I have talked to two CSRs. First time I got the firmware update and the second made some unspedified adjustments to my connection. I am also now making calls to the 212 area code with dialing prefix * 99. The Tivo will now make some test calls successfully but fails to make any daily call I attempt.
Can anyone suggest other dialing codes or prefixes and tell me what they mean?
My wife suggests that we upgade to a series 2, but I don't believe that the service contract transfers over. Any suggestions?

what cables do I need to purchase? I wished Ron would of told me this in the first place. I already went to Best Buy.
While at Best Buy, some kid was telling me that "you don't need any of that crap" just have your tivo update through your broadband connection." However, he can't tell me how cause he did it "several months ago". He claims to have

and tivo yet didn't know that tivo could dial out on phone lines. Needless to say, this kid could not articulate anything and when I questioned this "easy solution", he got bent and walked away. Maybe

can hire this kid for customer service, he'd fit right in. Anyway.....does anyone have a clue what this kid is talking about? Supposedly, I don't need an additional stuff....just change the set up on my tivo.
