* I have that router working ok for about 3month not problem at all
* We got a PaP2 Device to Play withit

we setup DHCP on Router starting 100 and just 1 availablwe
We added the PaP2 with DHCP and got the 192.168.1.100

we ping the 100 (its there)

i setup the NAT according to PaP2 Manual
53 UDP
69 UDP
5060-5061 UDP
10000-20000 UDP

i have 2 question:

1) PaP2 use Port 53, and DNS service use same port, anyway to handle this?

2) We send UPD 53 port to PaP2 but still not working? any Idea

Using last Firmware for Router v1.1
Using Default Firmware for PaP2 (i got this Devide yesterday) and account was setupt yesterday and is already active.

whne i dial any number after a 8-10sec silent i got a fastbusy signal

Its probably timing out, hook it straight up to the modem if possible...

Same Behavior plugin the net direct to the P2P, of course i cahnge the IP and GATEWAY casue DSL is fixed ip.

so the probelm must be other place.


**** aslo what about the 53 port on Vonage/P2P and the DNS service using same port?

Basicly IP Voice is somethign i dont want to waste too much time, like 1-2 day trying to found what is wrong. Sad

i make a phone call to support (i guess someone in India, pickup the phone) they said will call in 2 hours and i stayed at home to solve this (no call, service still down)

has you ever test another Service none Vonage?

Anyone?

I did check LINKSYS LOG:
192.168.1.100 216.115.21.26 10000
192.168.1.100 216.115.25.15 10000
192.168.1.100 216.115.25.22 10000


Those log happened whne i try to make a call but if i trace those IP i get This:

First off let me say that is it rather difficult to understand what you are trying to say with all the broken sentences.

The PAP2 must be configured with a static ip, it says so specifically within the documentation.

This is not true, you do not have to use a static IP to use the PAP2. I'm looking at the documentation. It lists changing to a static IP as a solution if you have problems, but it is not required. I didn't do anything special with my router for my PAP2, I powered everything down, slapped the PAP2 behind my router and turned everything back on, in turn, as the documentation states and have been problem free.

What is your router's IP? From your first post it appears that you have it set at 192.168.1.100, however you state that your pap2 has that address.

Router is 192.168.1.1
PAP2 is 192.168.1.100

4 Computer conenct all wrokign OK, (to test i even put teh PAP2 Directly to teh MODEM, same behaviour Tracer get interupted on the way to Vonage)

DHCP just to avoid hazzle setting teh IP Smile

Its DHCP starting in 100, one address avaliable so always get same.

But the isue as you can see in the log (Outgoing)
get Stopped for some reason.

Must say that my most recent India-Call Center experience was very disappointing.

I hope Vonage is happy with the Customer Care they are providing.

The few glitches will always be there. Have any of you guys tried Bell South?

I am a Vonage junkie. Apart from the Customer Non-Service, I am delighted with the Vonage Voip service and have even registered for the WiFi phone.

I am also the eternal optimist who hopes that we will never need those lousy call center guys.

I am hoping that technology will become even better...and that all will be done online
