I do not have Voange yet. I am trying to figure out is the RT31P2 will work with my old school rotary phones. I want to be able to dial out and have full use. I know there is a pulse to tone converter out there. My buddy has an older ATA and the rotary worked OK - dialed out and everything.
Thanks. |

I read somewhere that Vonage doesn't support rotary dialing. Don't know if this is true or not. Can't find anything on the Vonage web site about it. |

Ohhhhhh. I see. So theoretically I could get a Motorola TA and I would be all set with pulse dial? Will Vonage let me hook up an old ATA that I purchase from Ebay let's say? The VT1005V model? |

To answer my own question.......the RT31P2 does NOT accept pulse dialing. I didn't think it would anyways. But the Vonage service is great and the sound is clear as a bell.
I think I will be purchase a little device that converts pulse dialing into DTMF. I'll let everyone know if this gadget works.

Just tried it with my Linksys box and a circa 1960's dial phone (they NEVER die, do they?).
No go.
But frankly, with 10-digit dialing, I tend to use the dial phones only to pick up calls.
Oddly enough, my PBX will recognize the pulses, so I can dial "3" to pickup a call on one of the old phones.
"I'm quite fond of these old things...." |
