I have just installed a new router, Linksys, WRT 54GS with a PAP 2 TA and I am 3 using Uniden cordless phones. So far, this set up has worked flawlessly and voice clarity and reliability have been good to excellent . ( better than a good cell phone on www.Test YourVoip.com )
But I have not been able to hook up the HP 6110 fax. I rarely use or receive faxes, but I would like to keep the capability to send and receive faxes. I simply plugged the fax into the router and quick as a flash, nothing happened.
I usually don't send or receive more than a dozen faxed pages per month so I do not want to have a dedicated extra line for faxes.
I would be most grateful for any detailed and specific solutions to this problem of how to hook up the HP 6110. Thanks. |

You said you plugged your fax into the router. I presume you mean the phone adapter. If you plugged your fax into line 2 on the PAP2 it won't work unless you subscribe to a second phone line. I suggest you get a phone line splitter and plug it into line 1 on the PAP2, then plug both your telephone and fax into the splitter. Radio Shack and every place like that will probably have it.

Have you tried plugging the fax machine directly into a jack to see if that works? |

I just put on a new telephone wire extention cable and a new splitter , into the PAP2, and all is well. I can send and receive faxes after adusting the settings on the HP 6110.
Thanks for your advice. |
