I have just started service 4 days ago: my regular number has not yet been transfered so I'm using the temporary virtual number given by Vonage.

Up till now calling was OK: starting today, when calling (using the phone connected to the Vonage network) one local number a completely different number answers: this happened at least 15 times today while calling several local numbers. If I'm using my old land line (SBC) the call is directed to the correct number.

Any ideas?

Check the call log on your account online, if it shows the number you want then they have a problem routing your call. If it shows another number then there's something going on at the time of placing the call.

Just my guess.

Thanks Eddy: the log shows the correct number (10 times may I add). When you say "they have a problem routing the call" who is "they"? Vonage? The local phone company? The place I'm calling?

I really believe this is widespread. If anyone reading this forum is experiencing weird types of behavior from

OK, so it looks like it's not only me: don't know why but I don't feel better. Would you know if there is any effort of dealing with this problem? Do I have to place a direct ticket with tech support?

It seems that this morning, a friend of mine who has Vonage had this happen about 6 times. I'm waiting on my number to transfer, but this makes me think I should seriously consider cancelling that.

He was trying to call customer service, but eventually gave up. The price is nice, but it has to work.

You are right: IT HAS TO WORK. My service is working again: now I can call any number at it will ring. Hmmmm.

Just to add to the scatter plot - 2 errant connections even though the dash said the # dialed was correct. This one has never happened before and is odd at the very least.....
