Hi, I think the answer is not really, or not like you may be thinking. I might be able to help or try somehow. I use Digest authentication with Vonage using MS RTC. I am not sure if you can use ADSI *beep*, because your user will be user@mydomain. However, if you're just interested in managing these accounts from ADSI you very well could do that. On a Vonage account you get a username and password, you will need both to do anything.
If you generate an XML Profile and set the "account" field correctly (from your AS then create a "sipsrv" node of "role" = "registrar") you may be able to do it (providing your authentication mode is set to kerberos. This would be your best bet, BUT kerberos REQUIRES TCP or TLS transport and will not work for UDP which is what I have always used with vonge.
If you have any questions I can probably help you out. -Dan |

I believe the original poster was asking about Bellcore's ADSI not MicroSoft's "Active Directory Service Interface". Having said this, I happened to have picked up a Nortel Vista 350 (now Aastra PowerTouch 350) phone years ago, plugged it into my new PAP2 a few weeks ago and thought nothing of it. Imagine my surprise when I came home the next day, and the bright red LED bar on the phone was flashing and "Message Waiting" was on the LCD display. So I called, and sure enough, there was a message; after I listened to it and hung up, the LED went off! So, I would say that the PAP2 knows at least Bellcore Visual Message Waiting Indicator (VMWI), or even ADSI over SIP from Vonage. I'm thinking about buying a PT 470 or maybe even a 480e which can do even more. With a hardcoded ADSI "service" I hope to add a "Voice Mail" page that will dial in, enter the PIN, and display softkeys for voicemail navigation. What would be super-cool would be for Vonage to provide caller ID & time information over ADSI while listening to the message. They could also provide a summary of number of new & saved messages when first accessing the voice mail. Later, account management could be handled by ADSI like the HTML interface. Any thoughts from our resident Vonage support people?
Even if Vonage provides no other ADSI services, the VMWI is so cool I recommend buying a refurbed Vista 350 for around $50. raoul |

You can use your ADSI phone for the basic stuff like making and receiving calls. The Caller-ID will work and the message waiting light will work. The difference is that whatever program is in your ADSI phone won't work. Buttons for "Flash" may work but the others will not be programmed with feature codes that work with Vonage.
The PT350 and PT390 have some handy directory features built in that are independent of the provider so those will work as well. They also have good speaker phone capability. |

OK, reading the Sipura 2000 data sheet, I see that the box explicitly supports VMWI, so my guess is that the support comes directly from the PAP2. So I suppose that ADSI over SIP from Vonage is unlikely since demand is small and they have problems keeping their network up and CID information straight. That and obnoxious cable ISP's dropping Vonage packets so they can sell their own phone service.
How about some of the other features the PAP2 supports like "Music on hold client" and "Streaming Audio Server - upto 10 sessions"? Or the intriguing "Report Generation and Event Logging" and "Syslog and Debug Server Records" features?
