I have an RT31P2 with firmware 1.28.00 and Voice Version 2.0.13(LIVd)
In the Applications and Gaming tab and UPnP Forwarding sub-tab i have the following:
Application Ext.Port TCP UDP Int.Port IP Address Enabled TSWEB 3389 TCPcheck UDPnotchecked 3389 10 checked
In the Setup tab i have the DHCP Start IP Address as 192.168.15.100. With this, there should be no conflict with the computer that I set up with a static IP address of 192.168.15.10 which is hosting a terminal server.
I have DDNS setup correctly. But I haven't even gotten to the point of trying to connect from the internet yet.
The problem appears to be with the internal network. When I try to connect to 192.168.15.10/tsweb or simply to 192.168.15.10 from another computer that is connected to the LAN behind the RT31P2, I get the login for the RT31P2 instead. Specifically, I get the same dialog box when I try to connect to the RT31P2 setup: Enter Network Password Please type your user name and password. Site: 192.168.15.1 Realm Linksys RT31P2 User Name: Password:
Why would it do this if the RT31P2 address is 192.168.15.1???
Any help to get the computer set up for hosting is greatly appreciated! |

are you sure its the same dialog box? Did you type the RT31P@ password in this login box? The login and password box for Windows authentication looks the same. Also do you have a webserver setup on the Windows PC? If not you need to use Remote Desktop to connect and not a web browser. |

What is the IP address of the machine you are connecting from? It seems very odd that you would not be able to connect to it on a peer2peer basis if they are both plugged directly in to the RT31P2.
Being that you have only forwarded the ports for ts, any web / unc style connection attempt will fail from outside the router. The only connection that will work is a ts client / remote desktop connection.
If you were to put the ts server in the dmz of the router (basically forward all traffic to it) then you would be able to use web / unc to connect to the ts server from the outside.
I'm having a similar issue as you trying to run a TeamSpeak server. My RT31P2 isn't doing the dmz / port forwarding correctly. |

machine with ip 192.168.15.100 tries to connect to 192.168.15.10 and gets the Vonage router's administrative login... it is definitely the Vonage router's administrative login.
what I'm going to do tomorrow is connect a Linksys BEFSR81 directly to the cable modem and put everything, including the Vonage box, behind it... that'll be the test of whether it's the Vonage box screwing up my ports or some kind of configuration error on my part...
i'll post the results... |
