What are people's experiences in Michigan for their transfer?
I have Talk America and I've been waiting just under 2 months.

March 9, 2005 Transfer Sent to Carrier
March 29, 2005 Carrier Approved Transfer
March 31, 2005 Completed LNP Transfer
I had SBC in Troy, Michigan. I also got credit for two months when I signed over the phone because I complained that I shouldn't have to pay for the service when I don't have access to it. I asked for his supervisor and then he came back saying that he'll give me the second month free also. Worked out well

SBC Received order today (May 9th) said transfer will be complete May 16th (info came from SBC online account info and live advisor). Nine business days - not bad. I used the new online LOA system. Hopefully nothing goes wrong.

I nevered replied to this thread, but my transfer took place on the 16th as promised. I think the new electronic/online LNP request system is making things go much smoother. I was talking to customer service yesterday about a billing question and the rep said he almost fell out of his chair when he saw how quickly my transfer took place. He acknolwedged the fact that they have been slow, but then commented that the new system has greatly helped.
I wonder if it is possible to cancel your transfer and re-enter it under the new system, or if that would just slow things down.

FWIW:
February 5, 2006 Awaiting Letter of Authorization
February 5, 2006 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received
February 5, 2006 Transfer Sent to Carrier
February 17, 2006 Carrier Approved Transfer
February 18, 2006 Completed LNP Transfer
Not as quick as others with SBC have reported but 2 weeks still isn't bad.

My transfer was scheduled for today, and it seems to have taken place. I still have a dial tone on my SBC line, however.

I received an email from
Vonage
once my transfer was completed and in it, it said that you would still have a dial tone on your original phone line until about midnight of the day the transfer was completed. Sure enough, that is what happened.
On the day of the transfer, I did notice a few minor issues with
Vonage
. But that was no big deal as I understand, and they even stated in their email, that you may experience some downtime during the transfer.
Everything is working fine now.
