I did not see any mention of which states are included in the 14. I suppose if your POTS provider was Qwest before you switched to Vonage you will be covered? |

I figured that Florida would not be on the list.
My POTS provider was BellSouth and they will probably be the last to comply. |

I too am in a Bellsouth area. Though I read that SBC has been the worst wihen dealing with Vonage. They were supposed to do a test between them (Vonage & SBC) nine months ago, but SBC dropped out with no explanation. |

So when do you suppose E911 will be a reality for us living in Qwest areas? |

I think that Qwest and Vonage will move rather fast in the light of the Houston kid who couldn't figure out how to dial 911 on a Vonage phone.
I created an 8" x 10" poster in a picture frame that describes how and where you will be connected if you dial 911. I gives directions on exactly what to say for the Voip phone as well as the wireless phone. It even gives the backup number to the non-emergency dispatcher who shares the room with the E911 operators. I believe that everyone should have one of these posted in a conspicuous location. What if you were unconscious and a friend, neighbor, or relative needed to call for help for you? |
