Just wondering what NXX Vonage uses in Toronto, ON, Canada in the area code 647?
Do they offer 416 numbers as well?
Thanks. |

Vonage uses GT Group Telecom as its Canadian number provider. Based on that, Vonage likely offers new numbers in the 416 NPA from the 628, 848, and 907 COs and 722 and 723 COs in the 647 NPA. Of course, with LNP, this doesn't really matter as your can port your number to Vonage from Bell.
I hope that this answers your question. |

Ah..I see. Where is the call terminated from IP to the PSTN? Is the server or whatever handling it located in Canada or the US? |

I have heard through this forum that the server in located in the US (NJ and AZ) and that a Canadian server is planned for the future. The problem with using a US server is that Canadian toll free numbers (including 310 numbers) are not accessible as the ANI is from the US. Canadian based toll free numbers are accessible if it a "call from anywhere in Canada or US" number though. The upside of the US based server is that you can access "US Only" toll free number due to the ANI being from the US. |
