Look for a little package called Cain and Abel... the latest update included a VOiP module for recording streams...

I dont think that would help. Basicly all we need is fot the packets to travle from the Adapter to a network interface on your PC. A Hub is the most easy way of doing it. In a HUB, once a packet is sent on it, it flows to all the other ports on the HUB. A switch on the other hand, will only push a packet to the port it needs to go it. That is why a switch will not work (on routers that have other network ports on them, the other ports are infact on a switch, not a hub). |

Using Cain and Able you employ arp poisoning to put your self between the adapter and your pc and then out. Everything passes through your PC. |

yes, exactly and with the new version it encodes the VOIP traffic on the fly so that you can play it back with out any hassles. |

I still don't totally understand how to do this ... I have an extra pc that I want to use specifically for capturing the voip packets. Do I need to plug a hub into my vonage adapter/router and than plug the pc into the hub? Could you clear up the physical connections that I need to make as well as what I need to do with the software ... I have cain 2.5 and I've been messing around with it a little bit but I just don't know exactly what I'm looking for.
Thanks |
