First signed up for Vonage in February, I was promised by several phone reps and the website of Vonage (https://subscribe.vonage.com/vonage-subscribe/index.htm) that my number WAS AVAILABLE for porting. Waited, waited, waited, followed up with Vonage, was told that MCI was denying my request. Called MCI, was able to get in writing that my number could be and would be ported to Vonage as long as they sent the request. Ball is back in Vonage's court now, waiting, waiting, finally received an email message from Vonage stating that my number WAS NOT AVAILABLE for porting. I have had this number for 10+ years!! I had no choice but to cancel my transfer request. I was going to cancel Vonage too but the rep gave me some credits on my bill that I couldn't refuse. He said it was weird that my number was available then all of sudden not. I decided to keep checking the website I listed above to see if my number became available again. I cancelled the request to transfer on Thursday, then on Monday I checked the website and sure enough my number was available for porting again. I emailed the numbertransfer email address and asked them if it was accurate, they replied and said it was and to put in another request to transfer it. I immediatetly filled out the form and sent the LOA. Just for laughs I decided to check the website again a few hours after sending the LOA, guess what.......I got the message saying my number WAS NOT AVAILABLE for porting again. I emailed the numbertransfer people again and am still waiting for a response, has anyone else had this problem? I'm right outside of Chicago in NW Indiana. |
