I'm just over 2 months and my landline number hasn't been transferred & cancelled. Anybody have any experience with how long this takes? They said a minimum of 2 weeks, but 2 months?

..and when it finally happened I was without ALL phone service for a week. I'm glad its behind me.
I wanst sure who to be more frustrated with Vonage or my previous carrier.

I'm having my cellphone number transfered to Vonage, and I've been waiting 3 months.

I sent the LOA into Vonage January 15th, their records show them sending the Authorization latter to T-Mobile on the 18th. About 6 weeks after that I got an email from a Vonage service representative saying they needed the passcode on my T-mobile account so that T-mobile would talk to Vonage. I quickly provided it, only to continue waiting another 6 weeks and NO activity. Several calls have been made to Vonage customer support, all who claim they are creating a trouble ticket and that I should receive a follow-up within 24-48 hours, with no reply. One even promised to call back that afternoon, only to let me down.

Bottom line, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, and a continuning 5000 minute cell-phone plan with T-mobile.

Wow, i guess im lucky. It took about 1 week from SBC->Vonage. My co-workers were pretty jealous of me.

I understand that there exists the pontential for a credit on my account to help offset the financial inconvienience incurred thru an extended wait for a number transfer. I have recieved two Bills from SBC since Vonage posted the reciept of my LOA. No PIC lock and my broadband is Cable not DSL. Can I send the request in myself?

In a nutshell,
- call customer service
- be pleasant
- explain that you have been paying double phone bills because the LNP is taking longer than 20 biz days
- if not offered by CS then ask for a credit for the time after the first 20 biz days since you submitted your LOA

i submitted my loa request back in December and I'm still having problems with the transfer despite repeated calls in. They tell me that it's Verizon that's holding things up.

As far as I can gather - problem lays in the way my apt complex set up service with Verizon as the local telephone company - so all transactions related to my complex are showing transfer problems.

But when I did call them the last time, they credited me for 2 months of Vonage service. If only Verizon would do the same!!!

So, I'm still waiting - am giving them until the end of this month, and then that's it. I don't need the hassle in something that should be so simple! LOL!!!
