I recently changed my Charter Broadband to the lower rate that gives me 386kb download / 128kb upload. I'm finding that if I am surfing on the net and talking on the internet phone at the same time the voice on the phone gets choppy.
Is there a way I can set the internet phone to have priority over the surfing? Basically, take the bandwidth used up from me surfing so that it doesn't make my calls choppy.
I also notice there is a setting in Vonage called bandwith saver. I currently have it set to the highest (90kb). Will changing it to 50kb be a noticable change in sound quality?

that's pretty slow, and 90 is taking up about everything you have when you throw in overhead, etc. overall, I think you would be better off on 50, but 90 may work fine. depends on a lot of things, only trial will tell. as far as priority, depends on your network setup and devices which you don't mention. |

ok, well, you can't use the pap2 for priority, and I don't think the DI-614+ has any type of qos, but I think a lot of people here have that device so they can probably help you more. if it does have qos, you could find out about it in your manual or in the web interface of the router. |

Try hooking up your Vonage adapter before the router. This will give priority to the voice traffic.
