Tonight I was online working on one of my PCs, and it seems after I tried making it joing the network my Vonage router crapped out on me. My LAN access became limited, and while the phone still worked, I can no longer gain internet access with the router. I've replaced cables, and still nothing, as well as rebooting EVERYTHING. I know my internet is working because here I am, but it just seems odd that now the router isn't working

Mine does this every few days and I have to reset the cable modem. the wierd part is that resetting the router does not fix it. I have to reset the modem every time I change port forwarding too. This linksys router is a steaming pile like most of their products. Cisco should be embarrassed to put their name in the front. Evil or Very Mad

I was censored... that's funny...... anyway, does anyone have any information on how to hook the Vonage router up behind another router? The router I want to use is a little netgear rp614... I'm not going to use the Vonage router for anything but it's phone ports, since it screwed me up so much with this internet connectivity thing...

I replaced a number of residential routers last year. Lots of netgears AND lots of linksys. I think they both suck, but i have one of each. They're cheap!

I wouldnt be too quick to blame linksys. Probably your ISP. Mediacom was also acting like this. Finally I found out they had been leasing lines from Qwest, and were now switching to their own lines. This "switch" was causing lots of flaky stuff with connections. Especially a clue that its the isp, if you're having to reboot the modem. But, they'll probably never admit it unless you know someone on the inside of your isp provider.
