If I happen to have 3-4 wifi IPAQs around the house (used to control a home audio system), could I have SoftPhone running on them all concurrently, and would they all ring when a call comes in?
Is there any other solution that would allow me to use several PocketPC PDAs both as my home phones (with multiple handsets) over Vonage?
Seperately, given that the PDA has all my Contacts synched from Outlook, can this be integrated with SoftPhone to allow for direct dialling from the contact list?

technically it should, lol....you just wouldnt be able to pick up with different handsets like you would witht he adapter.
Example - a call comes in which I answer, but its for my brother, so I yell to him to pick up the phone downstairs, once he does I can hang up. You probably won't be able to do that.
Also you can have the softphone on as many pc's as you want, but only one can be in use at a time. |

I have tried this and it does not seem to work.. If you have softphone running on two PC's at the same time it seems only the first one that was logged in will ring. I have tested with 2 PC's, and with 1 PC and 1 Pocket PC.

you'll need some sort of gateway setup that you can setup extension for each of your pocket PC's. I personally use Asterisk to accomplish this task. |

When you say an "extension" for each softphone, will they still all ring concurrently on the same number?
Would it be possible to forward a call from one softphone to another?

Yes, within asterisk you can setup a call group to ring every extension or just a few and you can have it ring an external number as well if you wish.
I like using asterisk for routing calls based on callerid so, if a number comes in that is one of my teen Foster sons friends it will automatically call his extension and not anyone else. |
