Post subject: New user questions
I just got everything up and running, but have a couple of questions.
First, the hardware that was sent to me is a Motorola Voice Terminal VT1005V. I read about hooking up a Cisco unit to the phone lines in the house (after disconnecting the incoming wiring from the phone co. of course). Has anyone tried this with the new Motorla Voice Terminal?
Second, I am using HPNA 2.0 (Home Phoneline Networking - 10Mbs ethernet using the same phone lines). HPNA uses a frequency range of 4-10MHz over the phone lines. Any idea if this will interfere with the
Voip
from
Vonage
? Has anyone sucessfully had both HPNA and
Vonage
hooked up to the same phone lines without interference? As far as IP addesses go, the HPNA is setup under a seperate card with seperate IP addresses so packets shouldn't get confused while they are both traveling over the same physical media...

This is a white paper on how HPNA works if anyone is interested.

I have the Motorola ATA connected to my inside wiring and it works great. Can't comment on your HPNA connection.
