Thanks. I believe that they do have a Call Center in the US. But they do have off-shore call centers as well & that is where my 3 calls were routed. From the link you provided:
"That's a freeze-frame grab off the video on the right. And, contrary to a public perception that most of Vonage's customer support is off-shored, they've got plenty of hand-holders working stateside, as well."
admitting as much.

I know they have some operations in Edison, NJ. As I stated in earlier posts, I had to return modems to an Edison, NJ address.
And yes, there is a HUGE Indian population in the Edison/Iselin area. They actually call a section "Little India". All of the stores and franchises are owned by 1st generation Indians - particularly those from Gugarat, and many of the apartment and condominium complexes are predominately Indian. Since many of the IT jobs are outsourced, many of the consultant companies hire Indians on H1 and L1 Visas, and house them in these areas.

I thought all of the little stores all over the USA were owned by indians.

Last month I had a problem with my phone adapter. After an hour with tech support, I was finally given another number to call. A guy with an obvious New Jersey accent in "Customer Relations" answered. After explaining the problem he told me he'd transfer me to technical support. I told him I'd already talked to them and I asked what would be different
this
time.
He told me (as well as I can exactly remember), "Because I'm going to transfer you to someone in
this
building and the other people you talked to were in India."
So there you have it.

The one in India is far below standards even for India. Only 12 million people spoke english in India a year ago. Apparently, they all had jobs when
Vonage
got an off shore call site. I work with India five days a week, and I cannot get anybody at Vonage's India call center to understand me.

The main call center in the US had been in Edison, NJ. They are moving into new digs in Holmdel, NJ. (I guess the company is making money) Holmdel is very expensive neighborhood. I don't know how they will be able to keep their underpaid Customer Care Reps.
Yes, they do have a call center in India. It is not that they don't speak English, but with such a heavy accent, that it is very hard to understand them. I wish that the outside company would spend some money to teach their people English dictation, but that cost money.
Yes, there are a bunch of people working in the NJ customer care center that have poor english dictation & heavy accents. Again,
Vonage
needs to spend some money to clear these people heavy accents. Just like an actor can be trained to have an accent for a film role, these people can be trained to have clear english diction.

that has been brought up before, actually I think it broke on this forum because dan noticed ip's from the
Philippines
, but on the other hand, multiple CS reps have said cs is in india. I think sign up or something was in the
Philippines
. it may have changed since then, but
Vonage
is or was in india and the
Philippines
.
