I have changed to the middle setting. No beeps for so far... Sound quality is still perfect!

Very Happy

I think I was one of the original reporters of beeps. They have been getting MUCH WORSE in the last month. In fact, I finally just sent off an email to support. I can hear them on my end too, which just started within the last few weeks. I am hoping they'll have some tricks to try. I don't mind it as much for our personal line, but my business line it's much more delicate to have people think you're recording them (I was asked that today) and just in general have the annoyance during a business call.

Well... I got my first beep in a week today. Mad
I guess changing codecs had no effect. I don't think that Vonage has officially acknowledged this issue. So far, nobody else that I know with Voip has this issue (2 other Voip companies). I know what I've read as far as the cause of this issue. I do question if this truly is a Vonage-only issue. It's quite annoying.

I agree. I am back to getting the beeps all throughout the calls. I am still on the mid setting.. I am going to check the forums for the other companies and see if anyone is complaining over there.

Post back if you find any info. I'd like to know if Vonage is the only one with this issue.

I was looking around at dslreports, but there were so many threads on this issue and Vonage, I didn't bother looking through all the results. it looks pretty Vonage specific at this point. there are a couple of people who posted info that Vonage sent them about it (in early 04 and I think one in 03) which is interesting.

It seems to definitely be much worse for us in just the last 30 days or so. I think perhaps the email address I had for the support person I've worked with for so long may be invalid, so I emailed general support again just now.

Everything on my end is the same -- same phones, same router, same cable service, etc. I did get the firmware upgrade a while back, but it seems like the extra tones were not immediate to the upgrade.

Hopefully they can get to the bottom of it, or at least why it seems to be escalating for some of us. As I said to them in my email, I've gone to consciously trying to control the tone, pitch and volume of my voice, lest I subject the person on the other in to a cheap imitation of the Close Encounters of the Third Kind movie sound track.

Very very weird.

This does happen to me only when talking on the phone with my girlfriend. Typically when she's on her Qwest line at home. Don't remember it happening on either of her cell phones.

Well, as much as I like Vonage, I will leave if this is not resolved by the time I get my area code available from other Voip companies. That is, as long as they have a good deal going.

Honestly, the fact that this has not been addressed is making me angry. I've been very patient with Vonage so far. I want to say with them, but if this isn't fixed soon, I will probably leave.
