I purchased, installed, and activated the Vonage service in late December and have yet to receive my $50 rebate. I know of several other people that I work with who have never gotten theirs as well. Has anyone actually gotten a $50 check from Vonage or whatever company is handling this?

We are moving in a couple of months and I am considering going back to a standard POTS line. The rebate never showing up makes me wonder how viable this company really is.

In my case, the rebate very clearly said that 90 days of service was required for the rebate and that payment would be made 8-12 weeks after the 90 day period. I activated Vonage in late November and received my check in late March. So payment was actually about 4 weeks after the 90 day period.

Edit: Check www.web-rebates.com/vonage for the status

I purchased my router at Staples so it became a Staples rebate. Fortunately I registered on the Staples Rebate website before I sent in my rebate, because I found out that I had forgotten my Vonage Acct # and the MAC address (I didn't forget my MAC, it was cut out with my UPC code... I just didn't hand-write it down).

Well, the rebate was invalid and they didn't bother to tell me. I found out when I checked the status of it. The CSR was very nice and took the MAC address and Acct # over the phone and resubmitted it. It has since been updated on the website.

I will, hopefully, see a $50 rebate check in the mail someday.

For what it's worth...

Your device's MAC address should appear somewhere on the device, no matter which device you have. Also, you should be able to access some sort of browser-based configuration or information page for your device (refer to your manuals) that will have the MAC address for the device.
I believe this should be true no matter which device you have, whether it be one of the Linksys boxes, the Motorola VT1000, or the Cisco ATA. Just don't ask me how to access any of them except the Motorola (which is what I have).

I signed up with Vonage on 11/22/4 and sent my rebate paperwork the next day. The rebate clearly says that you must be with Vonage 90 days and that the rebate will come after the 90 days are up OR 12 weeks after receiving the rebate paperwork, whichever is later. Either way, I should have received it 2 months ago. Then when I email, I get a canned response and no one seems to even read the message. Are others haveing the same problem?

Hello,

Thanks for the link to check rebate status. Checked this morning and had this message....

Error(s): The MAC Address submitted is not valid or was not activated at www.vonage.com/activate

Well, I made copies of everything before I mailed the paperwork last Feb. My account has been active since Jan 23 and I did verify that I summited the correct Mac address of my PAP2. Vonage mailed out a "non compliance" post card yesterday. Hopefully the post card will have info on who I should call to get this corrected. Is there a number I can call in the meantime?

I also checked my status a week or so ago and it said it was declined because the "original" MAC from box wasn't sent it, but it had been. I simply called customer service, mentioned it to them, and they approved it immediately on the phone. I got a ticket number just in case I needed to follow up later, but a day later I checked the rebate site and the request had been approved by an entry method called "C/S Resubmit". Two days later received a followup email from Vonage stating it had been approved, and approx 4 days later it showed that the check mailed.

I'd simply call Vonage, and ask for assistance. I think they have caught a ton of flak for the process and have the ability to approve the rebates.

I started our Vonage service on 10/28/04, submitted all rebate paperwork the next day. Got my $50 rebate today, a check from Vonage.

Hi,

I dont' know where else to turn. Vonage won't get back to me, the rebate company gives me the runaround, and I am to look into legal action...... HELP!!!!!!!

I purchased my Vonage Starter Kit in November from Amazon. Received the kit, printed the rebate form, made copies of the rebate form and Amazon invoice, ripped the UPC code from the box, and mailed everything in. This was back in December.

It's now April 19th, 2005 and the web-rebates.com/vonage website shows nothing and they can't seem to get me to the right phone number to call. I have emailed Vonage 3 times using their website and to date they have never got back to me. It's been 5 months. What's up?

If vonage would like to finally contact me they can give me a phone number to call - or they can email me at the email address I used for signing up to these forums.

while there are some vonage reps here, these forums aren't affiliated with vonage.
from vonage-forum.com:
