Post subject: RT31P2 QOS question-Linksys no help
Can someone explain to me what I am actually doing when I enable QOS on RT31P2 and set it to 256? Linksys tech support was pretty useless on this one, thanks

this comes up every so often, but I've never seen a definitive answer. the latest theory is here:

the answer to your question is no one knows for sure and it's not a logical or intuitive setting like the qos offered with sveasoft or other 3rd party software is.
I always thought it reserved that much bandwidth when you're on a call. others say you put in your maximum bandwidth. there are many ideas out there.
