Post subject: RT31P2 Noise
I'm on my third RT31P2, the first two were "D" series plagued with the "Phaser noise", the third is an "E' Model I requested from Customer Care because the shorted dongle used to eliminate the "Phaser noise" prevents the automagic software updates from processing.
Unfortunately the "E" model I received also has noise, not as much as the "D" series but sufficient to warrant the use of the shorted dongle, however some noise still remains versus the "D" model which was totally silent with the dongle.
Some questions;
1. Does anyone else experience low background noise with an "E" series RT31P2 and if so is there any solution other than a shorting dongle?
2. Is there any compelling reason to keep the "E" series router and suffer thru the noise?
3. Is there any other non-Linksys Router/PAP combination or PAP only that that is supported by
Vonage
.
Thank you in advance
Arn

#2 YOu might want to check your hand set. But if the dongle takes care of it see why not.

Tom in Tech Support fixed this issue by switching my telephone to port2 after adjustments to port1 settings did not work.
It's now silent. Thanks Tom!
