Better make sure that you have a supported cable modem.

Hi, Im new here Smile

Comcast upgraded my area too, after about 72 hours I started getting actual download speeds of 600kbps (usd to be around 400kbps), upload didnt change much (went from actual 32kbps up to 33kbps).

It just takes a bit of time for it to work like its supposed to.

(sorry if this is a dead thread, only topic that interested me enough to register and post)

I've been keeping track. Testing four to five times a day. I have a steady 356kbps to 368kbps Upstream without out fail. Last week I ran the PingPlotter.com on Comcast. The plot was rock steady for the entire week. No poor connectivity shown, no poor latency, and not a single dropped packet. No complaints here!

I don't know what has been going on with Comcast lately, however they were out again last night. This is twice within 1 week. I emailed them today and told them I wanted credit for the outages. Also, if any of you are interested, call up Comcast and tell them that you are thinking of swicthing to DSL and ask them if they have any special offers to retain you as a customer. I did this and they cut my bill in half for 3 months!

I have been getting wildly different results on speed tests. Upload speeds for 10 tests were
40,21,40,186,293,343,318,287,77,345.
It is always sporadic like this, and as such is making my Vonage unusable.
Minnesota
Just spent $150 on a new linksys WCG200 modem/router....didn't fix a thing (1.1 Docsis currently on the modem)
I am giving these speed tests to the rep coming in the next hour.....not confident they will do anything. Is this a 'neighborhood' hub thing or something?

My this is an old thread! Anyway, the servers that Comcast has privileged me to use have indeed been creeping up in speed. I've got almost an entire 1Mbps increase within the last few weeks. I suspect that Comcast is preparing for their new upgrade by removing the caps from their servers that are soon to get the upgrade. I am looking forward to a download increase from 4Mbps to 6Mbps rumored for September here. Lol Dancing Drool
