My Comcast service is down too in Alexandria, VA. But my Vonage is also working.
Very weird and annoying... |

Comcast is suffering from a nationwide DNS failure. It seems to be working for me now, but has been unreliable. If necessary you can hardcode your DNS server to 4.2.2.2 |

So I'm assuming the DNS problems don't interfere with Voip, but why is this & the official Vonage sites the only ones I can access?? |

I can give you an official "I have no clue". Our servers are located 1500 miles from vonage.com's |

It is unlikely the adapters would need to do much name resolution in normal operation. I wouldn't recommend rebooting it however. You may have this site's and Vonage's site IP address cached on your machine. The DNS servers, as far as I could tell, were flaky and not down completely. I got my information from the Comcast forums. I have not seen an official announcement from Comcast. |

Had the same problem in New England, itis nice that Vonage does not rely on DNS (in this case anyway). |

Still flaky Friday morning. Some sites are accessible and other are not. Comcast must still be working out DNS issues. |

Very odd... I have Metrocast, a regional cable company, and I also experienced the same kind of situation last night. The only difference was it was at 1AM or 1:30AM. Vonage worked, but nothing else would (web sites). Maybe it was just coincidence, but strange nonetheless. |
