I have this for my personal email, although I rarely use it, but when someone leaves a voicemail, Vonage sends the customer an SMS saying "You have new voicemail, please dial 888-555-1212."
well does your cell offer a email to sms service?? like for example, I am with Rogers Wireless in Canada, the email of my phone is 5195555555@pcs.rogers.com and it sends that email directly to my phone as if it were a text message.. does your service do that? if so just put in that email until Vonage offers a direct SMS message

That is a DARN good idea!!! Tmobile does do that. I'm trying it now.
Yeah, I've been doing that with my Sprint PCS service. I send voicemail notification to 3175551234@messaging.sprintpcs.com. When a VM is left, I get a text message that includes the phone number of the person who called.
It would be even nicer if the CID w/ Name showed up and not just the number.
