Post subject: Utah LNP issues
Vonage
is now telling me that I'll have to reactivate my number with Qwest for the transfer to work, but that won't work with Qwest because they already gave up possession of the number back in April. At this point, if I have to reactivate with Qwest, I'll stay with them. This transfer process has been absolutely ridiculous. I'd love to stay with
Vonage
, but I'm not sure how much more of this I can take...

Post subject: Utah LNP from Qwest
So, as of the end of yesterday,
Vonage
was telling me that my transfer date is 3 June, but that they couldn't transfer the number because it was disconnected. However, this morning, I called my number on a whim, and it rang to my
Vonage
phone. Tests from several other phones showed that it appears that my transfer has completed! I have no idea what to say about this, but here I am, scratching my head, with a working phone. Total transfer time: LOA submitted March 12, number transferred May 26.

Post subject: My Transfer Results
Here are my results.
May 2, 2005 Awaiting Letter of Authorization
May 2, 2005 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received
May 7, 2005 Transfer Sent to Carrier
June 9, 2005 Carrier Approved Transfer
June 9, 2005 Completed LNP Transfer
Not 20 business days but not too bad. The number actually transferred on June 7. So no problems other than the web status page not updating. It didn't update with a transfer date until after it was already transferred.

I submitted my port request on March 4th. On Wednesday, 4/6, I started getting my Qwest number calls through
Vonage
. On Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday my Qwest line had a dial tone still. Today my Qwest line is completely dead. Now I'm finally running my
Vonage
line through all the jacks in my house and I'm a happy camper.
Here's the funny thing. This is what my status shows right now...
Updated Date: Number Transfer Progress History:
March 4, 2005 Awaiting Letter of Authorization
March 4, 2005 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received
March 4, 2005 Transfer Sent to Carrier
Moral of the story? Don't rely on the dashboard status of your LNP port. When I login to my Qwest account and view status on pending orders, there is one there that has a completion date of 4/8 so I'm assuming that is the number transfer order. Maybe you can keep checking there to see if they are starting the transfer yet.
How do you use all the phone jacks in your house through
Vonage
? I want to do that...
I have been waiting for over 2 months now for my transfer to go through. What a pain...

Post subject: Quick LNP with Qwest in CO
I live in Northern Colorado (970). It took 9 days to transfer the number. Here is the LNP status for my line copied/pasted from vonage.com (entries in parenthesis are notes I've added):
October 22, 2005 Awaiting Letter of Authorization
October 22, 2005 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received
October 23, 2005 Transfer Sent to Carrier
October 29, 2005 Carrier Approved Transfer
(October 31, 2005 Received email that transfer was complete)
(October 31, 2005
Vonage
started handling inbound calls)
November 1, 2005 Completed LNP Transfer
I haven't received my adapter yet, a little disappointing, but I'm glad the LNP went through quickly. I do know
Vonage
is handling calls to the transferred number (despite no adapter) because they're being forwarded to my cell phone (configured as "Network Availability Number" on vonage.com) and they are showing up in the "Activity" section on Vonage.com.

You simply hook the phone line coming out of the phone adapter into your house's wiring.
Think of the phone line that comes out of the phone adapter as being equivilant to the phone line that comes out of the ground from a POTS provider and this will make sense. (There is also a whole section of this forum dedicated to wiring.)

Cool - thanks for the reply. Now if
Vonage
will just complete my transfer I'll be good to go.
Thanks,
