Post subject: how much bandwidth do I need?
So I'm moving to a new house that does not have cable internet access. The only option available is a IDSL 144 connection.... Will this be enough bandwidth to support
Vonage
and allow simultaneous web browsing?

144kbps up and down? if you put the bandwidth saver at low, maybe medium but that's probably going to be pushing it, it might work ok.

yes its a symmetric connection with priority routing over all ADSL traffic.
I really don't want to have to install a T1 if I can get by with this IDSL connection until cable internet makes its way out to my new location.

Vonage
says you need 90kbps up and down for a high-quality call. In my tests, its actually closer to 85.6 kbps up and down
.
Are you thinking of having a fax line along with your 1st line at any time (a second voice line would be a different case than a fax)? this would pose the only problem that I can see because the call quality on the first line has to be set to "highest" in order for the Fax line to also be highest (info I got from a
Vonage
service rep.). There is no independent bandwidth feature setting for the fax line. With two different voice lines, each has its own bandwidth saver feature setting.
