My Vonage worked great for another month until yesterday went the dreaded green light for the phone 1 on the Linksys RT31P2 was out. I Have a Speedstream modem that is connected into the Linksys and to the PC. I have the internet access right now through this hookup. I have reset and reset, with no success. I put a new DSL modem in today and installed the installation CD for that today. I am not sure if I am in bridge mode or not. Is there a way to find out? The tftp tftp.vonage.net get test checks successful. I do not know what to do, in fear of losing my internet connection and will not be able to log in to the forum! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

it is a speedstream 5200 (newer) the old one was 3 years old.

if you look at the third google result for speedstream 5200 (I assume you don't have the manual...right?) you will see screenshots and all the info you need to log into the modem and I see a link there to "bridge mode" in one of the screenshots. looks pretty easy and straightforward.

I have the modem in bridge mode and I am not sure of what the settings should be in the linksys page (http://192.168.15.1)
I have tried both Obtain an IP auto (which I can get on the internet and the status page has information.
I also tried PPPOE and It went through once then I could not get connected again. Which one should I use? The phone light is still not on. I have reset many times and still nothing. I called Vonage service and the tech said they would send out a new unit, however I still belive I have something not quite right with my setup and will experience the same problem with the new unit. Are there any checks or tests I can run to see if I am correct?

who is your isp. you should have a login name and password to put into the PPPoE setting in the rt31p2 page. if you don't know it call your isp.

I put the username and password in the RT configuration and it connects on the status page and I have internet access, but still no phone light! I have no clue! Thanks!

what do you mean on the status page? do your phone lights ever blink?
I would do this particular reset if you haven't yet:
unplug power, unplug phone cords, push and hold reset button, plug power back in while holding reset button, keep holding reset button for 15 seconds after powering back on. keep an eye on the power light, and don't plug the phones back in (or power the box off) until it stops blinking.

and is it possible to change back to the old modem just to see if it works then?
