I signed up with Vonage on Dec 10th and immediately started the process to have my number transferred. It's now March 1st and my number has not been transferred. As I type this now I am on hold with their escalation department and have been so for the past 45 minutes. I must have called about this issue nearly 30 times so far and wasted countless hours doing so. All I can say is that Vonage customer service ****. Most of the people I've talked to have been rude. They will never let you speak to a supervisor and I can't even count how many times they've hung up on me. I'm filing a complaint with the better business bureau tomorrow.

I am in a similar situation. Called for my 3rd time tonight and didn't get much help (only started calling in June).

zubov, where are you?
Here is mine:

June 16, 2006 Awaiting Letter of Authorization
June 17, 2006 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received
June 17, 2006 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Accepted
June 17, 2006 Transfer Sent to Carrier

How long should I expect to wait? Is this a problem with Vonage, or Bell? They should really update their site and tell people that the average time is about 30 days to switch.

And it's pure **** that they give 1 month free. It is because it doesn't work within that one month. Meanwhile, the activation fee is conveniently the price of a months service. . .

I'm in Annapolis, MD and am transferring a line from Cingular Wireless. Vonage is always very nice when I call but they never do what they say they will... by their answers, I should have 20 e-mails in my inbox on the status of my transfer. I haven't received one since I did the initial sign-up and filled out the online LOA the same day.

Supposedly my letter was rejected 15 days into it, but I never got an email. I called Vonage on the 1st, and they told me that they changed some details and resubmited it... The letter that I had to sign my name to was changed by Vonage. I was quite mad considering that I also didn't recieve an email, as they told me to!

So after yelling on two occasions, they finally gave me another month free, and hopefully it will be done before it runs out. They should really give more detailed information on the transfers. Although mine was resubmitted, it still doesn't have any new information.
