Just noticed tonight that my firmware upgraded to 1.28.00. Anyone have a "fix list" for this release? Any chance it will help with the wireless stability problems that some people have been encountering? |

My Linksys RT31P2 came with 1.28.00 and still having constant Reboots and Dropped calls. So dont expect anything good to come out of it. I've read in so many forums that once Vonage forced a Firmware upgrade that this was when major problems started for them. |

I have got 1.28.00 on my WRT54GP2 and it is working great. I do not think that anyone has a list of changes though. I have never seen a change log. |

Here is what I would try:
Unplug any cable in the Line 2 jack Turn off the power to your router Turn off the power your cable/dsl modem Wait a few seconds Turn on the power to your cable/dsl modem Wait for the modem to start up Turn on the power to your router Wait for the router to start up (and hopefully download the new firmware) Re-connect any cable that was in the Line 2 jack |

Guess I'll answer one of my own questions...
I had time to play around with the wireless connection this evening. Still can't keep it on long enough to copy a large (3GB) file. I get kicked off in the middle of the copy, just like before.
Overall, it doesn't seem like it's disconnecting quite as often as before, but that could just be wishful thinking on my part. Regardless, it's still intermittently kicking me off for no good reason. Keeping fingers crossed for a fix soon... |

I just got 1.28.00 as well... actually should have had it quite some time ago. I can't believe you have to disconnect line 2 to allow this to happen. I removed my "phaser-canceller" and it went right on.
Unfortunately, Comcast had a major outage at the same time this happened and I was under the impression for the better part of an hour that the firmware update took out my phoneline AND internet access.
2 things at once suck. Anyway, I see no significant change in the new firmware either. |

Naive question. How do I check my firmware version? I never used the setup CD that came with the router, I just plugged it in between my cable modem and existing D-Link wireless router. Will I need to use the setup CD? |
