Post subject: Comcast Phone Number Transfers
After reading posts in this forum and other
Voip
forums it is evident to me that
Vonage
has not been forthcoming on details about transfer times.
I have been lead to believe that Comcast can and is refusing to release their numbers!
I have waited since Jan. 12th of this year, While I understand Comcast is guilty of not transferring, I am about done and believe
Vonage
should help cover the expense of paying for their service during this time or step up and be honest about the inability to capture Comcast numbers.
I have filed with the FCC and the Texas PUC. Nothing has transpired through this effort either. I have been lead to believe they have zero influence or jurisdiction on this issue. I would like to find out if anyone out there has had a Comcast number transfer. Maybe there are enough of us that can't get it to transfer to have a louder voice?

Post subject: porting to Vonage from Comcast-ATL
I have been waiting for my number to be ported since April 5th.
Vonage
lost my first fax authorization and I resent it to them on April 15th. Its now June 9th and my Comcast phone is still connected. I'm now on my third billing cycle with
Vonage
and paying two lines for absolutely no reason.
Vonage
should allow you to port your number and activate your service once its completed. I didn't need or request any virtual number from them.

I totally agree. It's ridiculous. I signed up (on 24th April) to save money and get new features. But without our regular number being available and no-one knowing our temporary number we're just wasting $15/month.
I'll probably cancel next week if it's not resolved.
