Hi, I'm an existing Vonage customer, new to the forum and need:
1. an ACR feature; and,
2. the ability to do fax using my PC.
Does Vonage currently provide these features or remotely near (within the next couple weeks) to providing them?
If not, which Vonage competitor do you recommend provides these features? I am looking to switch since Vonage cannot even give me an answer to these 2 feature requests via their customer service.
You can send me replies directly to my email address: dellpromo@yahoo.com.
Thanks! |

I suggest you browse and/or search the forum 'Fax, Tivo & Alarms' for useful information about faxing, and the forum 'VoIP Feature Request' to read everyone else's posts about ACR and variations thereof.
Replying with private email for public issues defeats the purpose of these forums. If you think you are having a problem that nobody else has encountered and potentially solved you should think again!
Hopefully some sour puss won't follow up this post criticizing you for not searching first and asking second, or criticizing me for being polite. |

Faxes from PC.
The way to generate faxes from PC on Vonage would be to get a second line as a fax on your Vonage adapter, and connect the fax/modem on your PC to that line. I have connected my fax machine to my Vonage line and my computer, it is a multi function fax, and I was able to send a fax from my computer through my fax and the Vonage line.

Well since you seem to know everything I suppose it would be pointless to tell you that the correct expression would be 'you're a jerk'.
If you think my response from 6 months ago was antithetical, please oh please in your wondrous wisdom tell me how I might have better served this forum and this member who was asking a question that had been answered and discussed in volumes in the specific locations i cited.
I had the same fax issues, and I found the solutions in the forums. THAT is what these forums are for. |

Don't believe that name calling will help anything and will more likely drive people, who have questions that need answering, away.
FYI it's not your a jerk its you're a jerk but maybe I'm a technocrat.
(apostraphes do count) -
actually looked it up:
[i]Main Entry: tech·no·crat
Pronunciation: 'tek-n&-"krat
Function: noun
1 : an adherent of technocracy
2 : a technical expert; especially : one exercising managerial authority
Back to orig post - go to the fax/tivo forum and scan from the beginning. There are numerous relevant posts about faxing that helped me. I am able to use my PC and mightfax to send faxes with no problem. You do not necessarily need second line if you only use the fax sparingly and not fullt time. The two important settings are transmission speed (9600) and error correction (off). |
