Curious. Anyone having trouble using PC Anywhere. Seemed to be getting disconnected a lot and didn't previous.

Setup is: DLink DCM-202 cable modem -> Linksys RTC1P2 -> DLink DI-784 -> computer.

Wonder if there is some sort of timeout and then I get disconnected. I've actually been on the phone (vonage line) while connected via PC Anywhere and have had no interuptions or anything that I can notice like clicks, temporary drops, etc.

Maybe need to tweek the Linksys units settings?

I would put the Voip behind the router..
Better firewall control and other nice features

hmmm...

The reason why I put the Linksys before the DLink router is there is one less piece of equipment to cause problems. So...if my DLink went down it wouldn't impact my Linksys adapter.

No doubt you have set yours up differently. What have you discovered?

I have my Vonage Linksys in front of my Netgear wireless router solely because of the Linksys QoS options for the phone. If a call comes in, it has to get top priority for bandwidth, period. And so far I have had no problems whatsoever with this setup.

But I sacrifice a lot, including a much better router admin interface from Netgear, to get it. I really wish Linksys would step up and improve that interface and options to what Netgear has. Especially on the port forwarding and DHCP options. Netgear allowed me via the router to hard-assign IP addresses to certain MAC addresses. Linksys doesn't allow that, so I had to hard-set the numbers on my desktop in the Windows settings.

But to solve your problems, have you looked at port forwarding to your PC that you need to connect to PC Anywhere with? It could be that it's getting lost in the shuffle, or blocked by the firewall.

well...

I'm using PC Anywhere as remote from my end and logging into hosts. So I don't need to set any port forwarding at my end as I'm going to the host from my end.

Okay, so you're not trying to log into your PC from somewhere else for this...

The only thing I could think of immediately is firewall settings. Make sure that it's not by default blocking outgoing connections unless you specifically allow it (some do). Did this occur only after you altered your config? You now have more than one firewall in place here, so you may have to double your efforts in setting rules, though I seem to remember the Linksys settigns to be rather lax for outgoing connections (been a while since I touched it). Can you connect to the hosts from other places?

well...

Oddly this problem only occured yesterday. I finally got an email from Comcast about the speed upgrades yesterday so I powered 'everything' off and brought everything back online. Haven't had a problem since.
